My take on Karam, Dharam & Test. Karan was a great Archer. he had each goodness of 5 Pandavas. Karan was the only Pandav who fought from Kaurava’s side.
He was the one who was light in the entire darkness. he was the one who was true to his Dharm n Karam. His karma was to stay truthful to his friend Duryodhan. this Karam was his Dharam. He was also tested on this path.
The temptation/test came thru Keshav( n let me remind u Keshav was very fond of Karan n his values ). When Keshav tells him about his true identity n invites him to fight from Kauravas’ side. Keshav tells Karan that the moment Yudhishthira will know about him, he will very happily give him the king’s crown….(here Keshav was playing the role of the tester). but Karan stayed true to his dharma n refused the offer. not only did he refuse the offer but also requested Keshav not to mention it to the Pandavas. because the wise Karan knew .. if Keshav mentions this to Pandavas they would give him the status of their elder brother n the crown n he is bound to his Dharam he will give it to Duryodhan… that would b wrong.Walking the path is never easy… test – will b there n always has been there. it’s only when one passes thru the test the fruit becomes sweeter and sweeter and also one becomes consciously n unconsciously aware of the test when it comes n also knows how to deal with it ( it’s not easy but also not difficult also… Tough yes. But the beauty is the tester is also one who provides us with the strength n hope) even Jesus was not spared from it. It came to Jesus in form of temptations. n not once but thrice. And that too when He had fasted for 40 days n 40 nites. to test his Karam & Dharam towards the Father. so no one is spared. it’s like our surprise test in school, after every chapter to see how much have v learnt or how good have v become with every learning.
So never get worried or scared of the test…. they will only turn us into gold from within, make us stronger, and wise & takes us closer to the light.
