Every scripture’s talks about NEEDS & WANTS. Do we really understand what they are trying to make us understand…? They are not telling us not to grow, not to prosper. They are telling us grow, but don’t be greedy.
Need and Want are not only on the Material front, but also on the Emotional and Mental side. The major cause of misery in the world, be it emotional, mental, or martial, is WANT. Want only gives rise to greed, greed gives rise to attachment, attachment to insecurity, insecurity to fear, fear to anger, and then to hide all of the above it takes the support of Pride. Thus, start’s the vicious cycle.
Most of the time we lose ourselves in this chain that we have self-created, which leads us on a self-destruction path – this path of darkness leads us to depression, addiction, jealousy, low self-esteem, sleep disorder, impatience, sadness, loneliness, living a superficial life, fighting for power, etc…
We watch documentaries, read books, and hear people talk about living a minimalistic, happy, and holistic life. So what is minimalism? Minimalism to me is like they say- to live light, let go n rejoice [I try every day. Somedays it’s smooth, some days it’s tough, but all I do is go on. These are a few things I do if n when I feel I am in the situation – speak to others, see things from outside the circle, and reach out for help, look within [it’s a very powerful tool, it never fails you] this comes with practice…listen to your inner voice.
One of the best ways I practice and suggest to my clients n also request then to teach their kids—is to always ask – Do I Need this Or Do I Want This? This question will never fail you!
